Born in Verona (Italy), Sganzerla has grown up in Nigeria, Norway, Vietnam, Egypt, the United States and Mexico.  She has been living and working in Zurich, Switzerland, since 2002.  Her paintings are enrichened with the restlessness and atmospheres of a nomadic life.  They are like archives of memories, walls on which the signs and traces of history are inscribed.  Through a distinct chromatic sensibility and the layers of texture subsequently scratched, the passage of time is revealed, as if the support would try to retain the original state of being without challenging the true transient nature of time.
